Haiku is a type of short form poetry, originally from Japan, that often focuses on images from nature and emphasizes simplicity, intensity, and directness of expression.
Drop by the NW or CO libraries during the lunch hour on the above dates to share an idea or topic with haiku writers Trish Rosseel and Katharine Shipley. They’ll produce a haiku written just for you in the traditional Japanese form of a three-line poem with seventeen syllables, written in a 5/7/5 syllable count – on typewriters, no less!
